3. INTENDED USE

The product allows for measuring the electric AC current strength inside an electric line. The power circuit must not
be disconnected when applying the product and during measurements. The functionality of the product is based on
the Rogowsky principle and the product measures the electric field that surrounds a live conductor. The measured AC
current strength will be shown in the display.
The product features a protective insulation and can be used for measurements on isolated and non-isolated electric
conductors. When measuring non-isolated, dangerously live conductors, the current clamp may only be applied or
removed with the power circuit in zero-current state.
The voltage against ground potential of the current measurement circuit must not exceed 1000 V for CAT III or 600
V for CAT IV. It is recommended to use personal safety equipment when performing measurements in CAT III and
CAT IV environments.
The product is powered with two commercially available 1.5 V micro batteries (type AAA, LR03). The product may be
operated with the specified battery type only. Batteries with a cell voltage of 1.2 V may not be used.
The product must not be operated when open, with the battery compartment open, or with the battery compartment
lid removed.
Measurements in explosive areas or humidors or under adverse ambient conditions are not permitted. Adverse
ambient conditions are defined as such: Wet conditions or high humidity, dust or flammable gases, vapors or solvents
as well as thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic fields, etc.
The product must only be used by persons familiar with the required measuring regulations and the potential hazards
involved. The use of personal protective equipment is recommended.
Any other use than described above will damage the product and can also cause hazards such as short circuit, fire,
electric shock, etc. The product as a whole must not be modified or altered!
