Adjusting the head angle

The head angle of the File Plus can be changed by +/- 1° via the headset. A slacker head angle improves the bike's smooth
running and can be an advantage on steep and technical trails. A steeper head angle, on the other hand, gives your bike
more agility and playfulness. When delivered, the headset is in the steep setting (the mark on the upper headset cup points
forwards, the mark on the lower headset cup points backwards).
To change the head angle, the cups inserted in the head tube of your frame must be removed and mounted again after
having been rotated by 180°.
1. Loosen the bolt for adjusting the headset play and the clamp bolts of the stem and push the stem upwards a little.
2. Slide out the bearing cups and clean the bearing cups and bearings.
3. Apply a thin layer of grease to the inside of the bearing cups (marked red) and then insert the ball bearings with the
chamfer facing the cup. Afterwards, insert the bearing cups together with the bearings into the frame.
→ Important: The markings on the bearing cups must point into the same direction.
4. Push the fork back up and the stem down.
5. Adjusting the headset play (see "3.1 Straightening the handlebar and adjusting the steering play" on page 41).
When mounting your fork, pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions!
