Installation
4.1
Installation requirements
Requirements for positioning and quality of the excavations
Classify the in-situ soil requirements (soil properties) with regard to the structural suitability (e.g. DIN 18196 or USCS -
Unified Soil Classification System).
Ensure frost-free installation depth of the inlet/outlet pipes for all-year use. The installation depth must be clarified, taking
into consideration the minimum and maximum soil cover.
The traffic load (load class A/B or D) must be clarified. A load distribution slab or a binder layer with asphalt must be pro-
vided on site for load class D.
Loads from adjacent foundations or laterally pressing soil pressure are not permitted, and must be prevented by counter-
measures taken on site.
PVC-U, PP or PE pipes are suitable pipes for further laying. DIN EN 124 and DIN EN 476 must be complied with.
A stilling section, with length at least equal to ten times the cross-section of the inlet pipe, must be provided directly
upstream of the separator. The transition from downpipes to horizontal pipes must be made with two 45° bends and a
250 mm intermediate section.
4.2
Transport
The following transport instructions must be followed
The tank may only be transported on site using a forklift truck (lashed onto the transport pallet) or using a crane (illus-
trated lifting eyebolts).
When lifting, use the two transport eyebolts near the inlet and outlet. The tank may only be lifted with hemp ropes or fabric
straps, wire ropes and chains are not permitted.
Cut the inlet and outlet to the required lengths. Ensure the cuts are vertical and deburred.
4.3
Adjacent foundations
If the system is to be positioned in such a way that it is near
a building, the following additional requirements must be
taken into account.
The separator must not be installed within the influence
zone of adjacent foundations, i.e.
Distance from buildings:
Minimum distance a = distance between the bottom edge of
the separator and bottom edge of the foundation:
a = ΔH x 1.73
4.4
Digging out the excavations
The size of the excavations must include at least 50 cm all round the outside of the tank as working space.
Excavate the slope angle β according to the in-situ soil requirements.
Place subbase layer consisting of 30 cm deep compacted crushed stone (0-16 mm grading range; 97% D
Place a levelling layer of sand (3-10 cm).
4.5
Positioning and connecting the tank
Position and align the tank as described in the transport instruction.
Connect the inlet and outlet lines and connect them to the on-site piping.
Install the lip seal, upper section and cover plate to ensure protection during the construction period. Ensure that the
upper section is level with the planned ground level.
Wastewater pipes and fittings made of the following materials may be connected to the inlet and outlet of the separator:
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U)
Polyethylene (PE)
Polypropylene (PP)
The following technical instructions must be followed:
