9.2 Placing the glass pane:

1. Grab the glass pane with both hands. Carefully insert the
glass pane between the construction frame (beware of
damage to the construction frame!).
2. Place the bottom side of the glass pane on the 2 rubbers
provided for this.
3. Carefully tilt the glass pane backwards, until it is standing
straight in the appliance. Hold it with one hand to keep it
in its place.
4. Place the air inlet profi le in the appliance (fi gure 8).
5. Place the right decorative strip (fi gure 9). Place the left
decorative strip in the same way.

10. Placing the block set

Place the block set as prescribed. It is important that the
blocks are placed in a correct way, because of the fl ame
picture! Make sure the appliance is operating while placing
the blocks. In this way you can see whether the blocks have
an adverse effect on the fl ame picture!

10.1 Block set 80E

1. Remove the block set from the packaging and check the
blocks for damage. If this is the case, please contact your
supplier.
2. Remove the glass pane (chapter 9)
3. Place block A at the left side, on the base (fi gure 10)
4. Place block D at the right side on the base, in the middle
(fi gure 11).
5. Place block B on the base over blocks A and D
(fi gure 12)
6. Place snippet E on the base in front of block A
(fi gure 13)
7. If required, the supplied chips can be placed on the base
as additional decoration, according to your own taste.
8. Place the glass pane (see chapter 9). After placing the
glass pane, check if the fl ame picture is still displayed cor-
rectly on the projection plate.

10.2 Block set 120E

1. Remove the block set from the packaging and check the
blocks for damage. If this is the case, please contact your
supplier.
2. Remove the glass pane (chapter 9)
3. Place block A at the left side on the base, approximately 5
cm from the side (fi gure 14)
4. Place block B at the right side on the base, place it in the
middle, approximately 5 cm from the side. (fi gure 15)
5. Place block C on the base over blocks A and B
(fi gure 16)
6. Place snippet E on the base in front of block A
(fi gure 17)
7. Place block D against block B (fi gure 18)
8. If required, the supplied chips can be placed on the base
as additional decoration, according to your own taste.
9. Place the glass pane (see chapter 9). After placing the
glass pane, check if the fl ame picture is still displayed cor-
rectly on the projection plate.

10.3 Pebble set

If you use the pebble set, you can remove the refl ection
strips. These are aluminium strips glued against the back
wall.

11. Wireless remote control

11.1 Operation

Standard, the appliance is supplied with a wireless control
(fi gure 19). This remote control can be used to switch the
heating elements in the appliance on and off, to adjust the
light intensity (level of the fl ame effect) and to switch the
appliance to standby mode. In (fi gure 19) you will fi nd a
description of the symbols on the remote control.
When using the remote control, you should aim it at the
appliance, as it is an infrared remote control. The remote
control will only work, if the main switch of the appliance is
set to position 1.
A Standby
B Higher fl ames and glow effect (steps by pressing)
C Heating element I ON I OFF
D Heating element II -ON I OFF
E Lower fl ames and glow effect (steps by pressing)
F Heating elements I and II off
11.2 Placing and replacing the batteries of the re-
mote control
The remote control is powered by batteries. The batteries
will have an average life of one year. For replacing the batte-
ries, observe the following steps (caution: if the batteries
are leaking, you could damage the remote control beyond
repair):
• Remove the cover at the underside of the remote con-
trol.
• Place two AAA type batteries in the battery compart-
ment and make sure you observe the correct polariza-
tion (plus and minus).
• Replace the cover.
Caution: old batteries should not be thrown away with
the household rubbish, but should be processed as small
chemical waste.
12. Using the heater for the fi rst time
When using the heating elements for the fi rst time, you
may notice an unpleasant smell. This is caused by the dust
that is present and the element's material when it is used
for the fi rst time. Make sure the room is well ventilated,
the smell will quickly disappear after the heater has been
warmed up a few times.
If the unpleasant smell does not go away, please contact
your supplier.
