2.3 Extra protection

If the appliance is installed in a room where small
children or infi rm people are staying, we recom-
mend screening off the appliance and storing the
remote control in a safe place.

2.4 Extra warnings

1. The symbol at the underside near the hot air
outlet (see fi gure 2) indicates that the ap-
pliance is very hot at this location and that by
covering this outlet the appliance and/or the
surrounding space can become overheated.
2. Caution! Touching hot parts may lead to burns!
3. In the event of damage to the glass pane you
may no longer use the appliance, consult your
installer.
4. The user may not perform any work to the ap-
pliance!

3. Packaging

The appliance may only be transported in its special packa-
ging. If you do not use the correct packaging, damages may
occur during transportation, which may lead to dangerous
situations.

4. Removing the packaging and recycling

When receiving the appliance, you must check if the
packaging is undamaged. If this is not the case, you must
contact your supplier. Never use the product if the pac-
kaging is damaged!
Check the appliance for damages during transport. If
there is any damage at all, contact your supplier and
never use the appliance!
Keep the packaging materials until the appliance is instal-
led and tested.
The packaging must be disposed of in accordance with
regulations.
5. Installing and connecting
The appliance should be placed by an authorized professio-
nal dealer in accordance with the applicable regulations. The
appliance should be connected to an earthed wall socket.
6. Changing fuses
The appliance has a power consumption of about 1500
watts (with both heating elements activated). For that
reason, the atmospheric hearth has been provided with
two 10 ampere slow fuses, which are placed behind the left
decorative profi le.
By removing the left decorative strip (fi gure 3), you can
reach the fuse holders (fi gure 4).
For removing the fuses, remove the plug from the appliance
and check if both fuses have not blown. If the fuses have
blown, you can place new one (two of 10 ampere Slow)
and place back the plug. If the fuses blow again, you must
contact your supplier. Under no circumstances use fuses of
more than 10 amp. This would have serious consequences
in the event of a short circuit.
You should take account of any other appliances connected
to the same mains group, so that the group's maximum
power consumption is not exceeded. Please consult your
installer.
7. Placing the appliance, free space surroun-
ding the appliance
The appliance is designed to be mounted tightly in a new
chimney breast. It is also possible to place a decorative
mantelpiece against this chimney breast. Do, however, take
the air fl ow around the appliance into account (your instal-
ler will read about this in the installation manual). As user,
you must make sure that nothing is placed in front of the
appliance, because of the hot air outlet and cold air inlet
(see fi gure 1).
8. Switching on and switching off the appliance.
By using the switch at the upper left side of the appliance
(0 or 1) the appliance can be switched on or off
(see fi gure 2).
Caution: by switching off the appliance, the appliance will no
longer use power.
It is always recommended to switch off the appli-
ance (at night, for instance) by using the switch.

9. Placing and removing the glass pane

The base and the projection plate may only be removed by
the installer for service objectives!
When placing and removing the glass pane, avoid damages
to the appliance and/or plate.
Prior to removing the pane, make sure the heating element
is switched off (for this, see section 13.2)

9.1 Removing the glass pane:

1. Remove the decorative strip at the right side of the
appliance (fi gure 5). Remove the decorative strip at the
left side in the same way.
Caution! By removing the decorative strips, the
glass pane will come loose. Use one hand to keep
the glass pane in its place, while performing
step 2.
2. Remove the air inlet profi le from the appliance
(fi gure 6).
3. Tilt the glass pane somewhat to the front (fi gure 7).
Now, carefully remove the glass pane from the appliance
(beware of damage to the construction frame!).
Lay or place the glass pane on a safe place where it can-
not be broken.
