Preface

Dear user,
Thank you for purchasing this DRU product. Our products
have been developed and produced in accordance with the
highest quality, performance and safety requirements. This
means that you will be able to enjoy using this product
without any problems, for many years to come.
Two manuals are supplied with the appliance: the instal-
lation manual and the user manual. The user manual will
give you the information you need to operate the appliance
properly and safely. Carefully read this user manual prior
to using the appliance. Keep the user manual AND the
installation manual in a safe place. As a user you
are only entitled to perform the work described in
the user manual. Any other work requires a competent
installer. In case of questions or doubts, please contact your
installer. In the text you will fi nd references to pictures. You
can fi nd these pictures in the back of the user manual.
The following symbols are used in the manual to indicate
important information:

1. Introduction

The appliance is supplied together with a block set or peb-
bles.
The fl ame effect of this atmospheric hearth can be used
with and without heating.
The heating can be used in two positions, namely 750 watts
or 1500 watts.
At any time of day you can enjoy the relaxing realistic fl ame
effect generated by the most modern technology. The ener-
gy used for the fl ame effect is very low (about 20 watts)
This appliance complies with the applicable CE directives.

2. Safety

2.1 General

- Carefully read this chapter on safety, before you start
using the appliance.
- Please observe the general regulations and the precauti-
ons/safety instructions in this manual, to avoid damage or
severe injuries.
2.2 Precautions / safety instructions during instal-
lation
Carefully observe the following precautions/safety regulati-
ons:
- All maintenance and service work should be performed
by the installer, for this, the installer should refer to the
installation and service manual.
- In case of damages to the appliance, immediately consult
the supplier, before it is installed and put into operation.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not place the appliance in a moist environment or
near a bath, shower or pool.
- The warm air outlet and cold air inlet may never be
completely or partly blocked (see fi gure 1).
- The appliance should not be covered with an insulation
blanket and should not be wrapped in any way.
- The appliance is suitable for 230V, 50Hz and has a maxi-
mum connecting value of 1500 watts.
- The plug must be within reach after installation;
- The wall socket to which the appliance will be connec-
ted should be earthed.
- Do not place any objects under or in front of the ap-
pliance as they could be affected by the heat
(see fi gure 1).
- Never place the power cable near the hot air outlet.
- Make sure that curtains or other infl ammable materials
are at least 1 metre away from the appliance.
- The appliance must be installed by the installer, in accor-
dance with the applicable regulations.
- Do not use this appliance in combination with other
control equipment, such as timers, thermal controllers
or programmed controllers, which will automatically
switch on the appliance. The appliance could be covered
or someone may have placed something under or in
front of the appliance, which could result in fi re.
- In case of a malfunction, remove the plug from the wall
socket, and warn your installer.
- Do not hang wet clothes, towels etc. on or near the ap-
pliance in order to dry them (see fi gure 1).
- When you use the remote control to put the appliance
in standby mode, a bit of electric current will continue
to pass through the appliance. We recommend use of
the on/off switch to switch off the appliance. Do NOT
use the appliance at room temperatures below 2ºC and
above 40ºC.
- Do NOT use the appliance when the atmospheric humi-
dity is higher than 80%.
- Do NOT use the appliance at a height above 2,000 me-
tres.
- Caution: The appliance weighs approximately 50 kg. Do
not try to move the appliance without the assistance of
a second person.
