Further information about these settings can be
found in the operating instructions of the eSuspen-
sion manufacturer.
eSuspension is only available in conjunction with the
Kiox on-board computer and only possible in combi-
nation with the BDU450 CX, BDU480 CX and
BDU490P drive units.
ABS – Anti-lock braking system (optional)
If the bicycle is fitted with a Bosch eBike anti-lock
braking system (ABS) that does not have an external
indicator light, the indicator will be shown in the Kiox
display when starting up the system and in the event
of an error. Further information about the ABS and
how it functions can be found in the ABS operating in-
structions.
Lock (premium function)
This function can be purchased in the <Shop> of the
eBike-Connect app. Once the lock function is
switched on, the assistance from the eBike drive unit
is deactivated. Activation is then only possible via the
on-board computer that is associated with the eBike.
More detailed instructions regarding this can be
found in the online operating instructions at
www.Bosch-eBike.com/Kiox-manual.

Software updates

Software updates are transferred from the app to the
on-board computer in the background as soon as the
app is connected with the on-board computer. If an
update has been fully transferred, this is shown three
times upon restarting the on-board computer.
Alternatively, you can check for the presence of any
updates via <Sys settings>.
Powering external devices from the USB
port
The USB port can be used to run or charge most de-
vices that can be powered via USB (e.g. various cell
phones).

In order for charging to work, the eBike must be fitted
with the on-board computer and a sufficiently
charged battery.
Open the protective cap (17) on the USB port of the
on-board computer. Use the Micro A–Micro B USB
charging cable (available from your Bosch eBike
dealer) to connect the USB port of the external device
to the USB port (6) of the on-board computer.
Once the electronic device has been removed, care-
fully replace the protective cap (17) on the USB port.
A USB connection is not a watertight plug connec-
tion. When cycling in wet conditions, ensure no
external devices are connected and that the USB
port is fully covered by the protective cap (17).
Attention: Any electrical devices connected can re-
duce the range of the eBike.
Displays and settings of the on-
board computer
Note: All interface displays and texts on the following
pages correspond to the release status of the soft-
ware. The interface displays and texts may change
slightly following a software update.

Operating logic

You can use the < (10) and > (8) buttons to switch
between the different pages of riding values (even
while riding). This way, you can keep both hands on
the handlebars while cycling.
You can use the + (12) and – (11) buttons to in-
crease or decrease the assistance level. If you are in a
list (e.g. in the <Settings> menu), you can use these
buttons to scroll up or down in the list.
The <Settings> that can be accessed via the status
page cannot be changed while riding.
You can use the select button (9) to perform the fol-
lowing functions:
– Access the quick menu while riding.
– Access the settings menu from the status page
while stationary.
