PUTTING INTO OPERATION (Fig. 2)
Caution! Before operating the mower check:
a - that the blade has not been engaged. If it has the engine will not start (5, pos. "STOP")
b - that the machine is in neutral (2, pos. "N")
c - that the fuel tank is full
d - that the oil level is correct
e - that the deflector is in position (only for Mod.63)
f - that the grassbox is correctly attached (only for Mod.67, Fig.10).
Start the mower following the instructions given in the Engine Operating Manual.
If the engine has an electric start, start it with the ignition key (turn clockwise) on the dashboard. Once the engine has started, move the speed
control between the MAX and MIN position so that the engine runs at the speed needed.
The engine need not been at full Rpm if the grass cutting job is "light" (grass not high). A low Rpm the lawn mower is much more silent running and
much less fuel hungry.
1. Driving ( Fig. 2)
Pull the safety handle (1) up towards the handlebar.
Move the gear lever (2) from neutral "N" forward gradually towards 1/2/3 or R (for reverse).
2. Mowing ( Fig. 2)
Once the machine has started off, keep the engine for 3-4 minutes at half throttle. Then accelerate all the way (4).
Engage the blade by moving the lever on the left of the dashboard (5) slowly into its engage slot.
Do not start the lawn mower in tall grass!
3.

Switching off

( Fig. 2)
Disengage the blade putting the lever (5) on stop position .
Then stop the putting forward ,release the lever (1) and then position the speeds selector (2) on neutral position ( it is shown on the sticker
as "N"). Now you can switch the unit off putting the handle throttle (4) on STOP postion . In case you go away from the unit it is worth to block
it inserting the stopping brake using the suitable lever (6). For the electrical models , please take the ignition key off.
ATTENTION : when putting the cutting grass device off ( even in case safety device operates ) the blade goes on turning for
a few seconds : do not get near it. !
ADJUSTMENTS AND REGISTRATIONS
Always switch the engine off and remove the plug lead before any regulation or registration work.
The engine/blade belt tension and blade brake regulation can be made with the adjuster (7, Fig.2).
This adjustment is correct when, with the blade disengaged, spring (1, Fig.4) is completely slackened off. In this situation, the brake ferode (2, Fig.4)
12
will also be in the correct position.
