MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Dusting and vacuuming
Here's how to vacuum inside your treadmill cover:
Step 1: Ensure safety:
Before you begin, ensure that your treadmill is unplugged from the electrical outlet to avoid any
electrical hazards.
Step 2: Access the Interior:
To remove the motor cover of the treadmill, you will need to have on hand a Phillips-Head Screw-
driver. Simply remove all 5 screws attaching the cover to the machine and lift up the cover.
Step 3: Vacuum with Care:
Use a handheld or brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to gently remove dust and debris from
the interior. Be thorough but avoid excessive force to prevent damage to delicate components.
Step 4: Focus on Critical Areas:
Pay particular attention to the motor and electrical components, as these are susceptible to dust
buildup. Additionally, clean any ventilation ports.
Step 5: Reassemble and Test:
Once you've completed the vacuuming, reassemble the treadmill by following step 2 backwards. Make
sure not to pinch any cables when reassembling the treadmill. Plug it in and run a brief test to ensure
it's functioning correctly.
Regular vacuuming inside your treadmill cover can help extend the life of your equipment, maintain
optimal performance, and ensure a safer and more enjoyable workout experience. Always consult
your treadmill's user manual for specific maintenance recommendations tailored to your model.
Hardware inspection
Step 1: Safety Precautions:
Ensure that the treadmill is powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet before you begin
inspections.
Step 2: Gather the Right Tools:
Collect the appropriate tools, such as wrenches or screwdrivers, to inspect and tighten hardware.
Step 3: Inspect All Components:
Examine all visible hardware components on your treadmill. Pay close attention to bolts, nuts, screws,
and other fasteners. Check the frame, console and walking board.
Step 4: Identify Loose Hardware:
If you find any loose or wobbly hardware, use the appropriate tool to securely tighten it. Ensure you
do not overtighten, as this can damage the hardware.
Step 5: Identify Damaged Hardware:
If you find hardware that appears to be damaged, such as stripped screws, broken plastic, walking
board, etc. please reach out to Ascend's customer service for guidance. Some basic hardware can also
be purchased directly from movewithascend.com.
