4.5. Starting the generating set
Before starting, it is necessary to understand all of the controls and manoeuvres.
Check that all the nuts, bolts and screws are correctly tightened and check that there are no leaks.
IMPORTANT
Set the economy operation switch (A - 11) to the Hare position.
Holding the fuel tank cap (A - 4) tightly to prevent it from opening, open the fuel tank vent (A - 5) by rotating it one complete turn in
an anti-clockwise direction.
Turn the fuel tap (A - 6) to the "ON" position.
Set the ON / OFF switch (A - 10) to the
Pull the choke (A - 9).
Do not use the choke when the engine is warm or when the atmospheric temperature is high.
Slowly pull the starter-recoil reel handle (A - 12), until there is some resistance then let it return gently.
Then pull the starter-recoil reel handle quickly and sharply until the engine starts.
The operating light (A - 16) comes on.
4.6. Using the electricity supplied
4.6.1 Electric socket (alternating current)
When the generating set is warm and the speed has stabilised (approx. 3 to 5 min):
Gradually press the starter (A - 9) to return it to its initial position.
Connect the supply cable of the device being used to the electric socket (A - 13) of the generating set.
Set the economy operation switch (A - 11) to the Tortoise position.
If devices are used that require a significant starting current (e.g.: compressor, submerged pump unit, etc.), leave the economy
operation switch in the Hare position.
4.6.2 12 V socket (direct current)
DANGER
The generating set is equipped with a 12 V socket (A - 15) which can only be used for devices operating at 12 V, still with the use of a
buffer battery (automobile battery). This socket can also be used for occasional brief battery charging operations.
The generating set does not have a charge controller, therefore the charge is not regulated or limited. Always
observe the charging time, regularly checking the battery using a hydrometer (acid). Never leave the battery
unattended during charging. Always disconnect the generating set's battery when charging is complete
(permanent charge, risk of damage). Do not leave the battery connected to the vehicle and never attempt to
start the vehicle while the battery is being charged. Observe the polarities and connect the cables before
IMPORTANT
starting the generating set.
If the generating set is operating, switch it off (see § Switching the generating set off).
Connect the 12 V cables to the generating set's 12 V socket and to the battery terminals (red: +; black: -).
Start the generating set.
If the circuit breaker trips, switch off the generating set and disconnect the battery.
Set the economy operation switch (A - 11) to the Hare position.
Monitor the charge and check the battery regularly.
Once charging is complete, switch off the generating set before disconnecting the 12 V cables.
Simultaneous use of direct current or alternating current supply is possible, but the total consumption in watts (W) must not exceed the
nominal power.
4.7. Using two generating sets simultaneously (coupling)
Refer to the procedure provided with the coupling kit.
position.
RISK OF POISONING OR EXPLOSION
Follow the battery manufacturer's recommendations. Use only insulated
tools. Never use sulphuric acid or acid water to top up the electrolyte level.
Never leave the battery close to a flame or fire. Always ensure adequate
ventilation during charging.
