Danger from Rechargeable Batteries

Rechargeable batteries can be deadly if swallowed. Seek medical attention immedi-
ately if a battery has been swallowed.
Before inserting the battery pack, check whether the contacts are clean and clean
them if necessary.
Use only the battery type specifi ed in the technical data.
If the battery has leaked, do not allow your skin, eyes and mucous membranes to
come into contact with the battery acid. If you touch battery acid, rinse the affected
sites with abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as soon as possible.
Remove a leaking battery from the device immediately. Clean the contacts before
inserting a new battery.
The battery must not be taken apart, thrown into a fi re, immersed in liquids or short-
circuited.
Danger of Electric Shock and Fire
The mains adapter should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with
safety contacts. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection
so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must
match the technical data of the mains adapter. Only use suitable extension cables
whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
Never immerse the device, mains adapter, cable or plug in water or other liquids and
ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet.
Should the device or the mains adapter fall into water, switch off the power supply
immediately. Do not attempt to pull the device or the mains adapter out of the water
while it is still connected to the mains power!
Never touch the device, mains adapter, cable or plug with wet hands when these
components are connected to the mains power.
Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and
explosive fumes.
Do not insert anything into the ventilation openings of the device and make sure that
these do not become clogged.
Switch off the device and pull the mains adapter out of the plug socket if an error
occurs during charging or before a thunderstorm.
Always pull the plug and never the mains cable.
Use the device only in closed rooms.
Do not operate the device in a very damp environment or in the vicinity of combus-
tible material.
Empty and clean the collecting container after each use. The fi lter must also be
regularly cleaned in order to prevent overloading of the motor.
In the interest of your own safety, you should therefore check the device for damage
each time before you use it. Only use it if the device, mains adapter, cable and plug
have no signs of damage!
Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
Before use, ensure that the device is properly assembled. The collecting con-
tainer, fi lter, insert and seals must be inserted and must not be damaged! If
the dirt were to get inside the device, this could damage the motor.
