5.7.2 Linear temperature compensation and determination of the temperature
coefficient
If the temperature compensation function is not known, linear temperature compensa-
tion is used in practice. In this case, it is assumed that the temperature dependence over
the solution's observed concentration range is about the same. (<SEt PArA>: t.Cor = Lin)
The conversion of electrical conductivity (EC) to the reference temperature can be carried out
using the following equation:
EC

• TC
= Temperature coefficient

• T
= Reference temperature (25°C / 20°C)

• T

The temperature coefficient can be determined by measuring the conductivity of a solution
without temperature compensation (t.Cor = oFF) at two temperatures, T1 and T2.

5.8 Maintenance and storage of conductivity electrodes

Conductivity electrodes can be stored dry. After every measurement, we recommend rinsing the
electrodes carefully with distilled or deionised water and then drying them with a thin paper
towel. In the event of coarse contamination, the electrodes can be cleaned with a soft brush.

6 Data logger

The data logger cannot be used if the auto range function is switched on in the
!
configuration menu. To use the data logger, define a specific measuring range
(resolution). (<SEt PArA>: rAnG)
The instrument has two different logger functions for recording data:
• Func-Stor: Manual recording of measurement values by button press.
The choice of measuring location ID (L ID) will also be queried.
• Func-CYCL: Automatic recording of measurement values at a defined interval.
The record is made up of the following information:
• Measurement value of Con/TDS/SAL/Res
• Measurement value of the temperature (°C / °F)
• Measuring location L ID (only with Func-Stor)
• Time and date at the time of saving
i
The real-time clock is required for the chronological assignment of
logger data and calibration times. The settings under <SEt InSt>
should therefore be checked if required.
