Troubleshooting

If the device does not work properly, fi rst check whether you are able to rectify the
problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the following steps, contact the
customer service department.
Do not attempt to repair a electrical device yourself!
Problem
The vacuum cleaner
has no suction power.
The suction
performance
is poor.
The device emits dust
when vacuuming.
The mains cable
will not completely
retract.
An unpleasant
odour develops
when vacuuming.

Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner so that
it can be recycled.
This device is governed by the European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste elec-
trical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Do not dispose of this device as normal
domestic waste, but rather in an environmentally friendly manner via an offi cial-
ly approved waste disposal company.

Possible cause / solution
• Is the mains plug not correctly connected with a socket?
Correct the position of the mains plug.
• Is the socket defective? Try another socket.
• Check the fuse for your mains connection.
• Is the suction power set too low on the suction power con-
trol? Turn the suction power control more towards MAX.
• Is the auxiliary air vent on the handle open? Close it.
• Is the dust container too full? Empty the container.
• Are the fi lters heavily laden with dirt? Clean the cyclone
insert, motor fi lters and HEPA exhaust air fi lter.
• Is the nozzle, telescopic tube or suction hose clogged?
Turn the device off, pull the mains plug out of the socket
and remove the obstruction (also see chapter "Assembly").
• Has the dust container not been closed properly and/or is it
not (properly) inserted in the device? Correct this.
• Are the fi lters heavily laden with dirt? Clean the cyclone
insert, motor fi lters and HEPA exhaust air fi lter.
• The mains cable has not been correctly retracted into the
device. Pull it out a little and press the cable retraction but-
ton again.
• Are you using the device for the fi rst time? An odour often
develops when using new devices for the fi rst time. The
odour should disappear once you have used the device a
few times.
