3. Tap the air filter against a hard surface or use a
vacuum cleaner to remove the particles.
CAUTION: Do not let the nozzle of the
vacuum cleaner touch the surface of the
paper filter element. Keep a small
distance. The sensitive surface of the
paper filter element becomes damaged if
objects touch it.
4. Examine the air filter for damage.
5. Discard the air filter if it is damaged.
CAUTION: Always replace a damaged
air filter, or the dust will go into the
engine and cause engine damage.
6. Clean the foam filter with soap and water.
7. Flush the foam filter in clean water.
8. Squeeze the water from the foam filter and let it dry.
9. Lubricate the foam filter with engine oil.
10. Press a clean cloth against the filter to remove
unwanted oil.
Note: Smoke will come out from the engine if there is
too much oil in the foam filter when the engine starts.
11. Put the air filter cover back. Refer to
air filter on page 14 .
To do a check of the brush strip
Make sure that the brush strip is not damaged and
that it seals tightly against the floor.
To examine the spark plug
WARNING: Let the spark plug become cool
before you replace it.
CAUTION: Always use a correct spark plug.
