Transporting and storing the generating set
6.1
Transport and handling conditions
Before transporting the generating set, check that the bolts are correctly tightened, close the fuel tap (if fitted) and disconnect the
battery (if fitted). The generating set should be transported in its normal operating position; never lay it on its side. A pump unit
should be handled gently and brusque movements should be avoided. Ensure that the place where it is to be stored or used is
carefully prepared beforehand.
6.2
Storage conditions
This procedure for storing the generating set or protecting it over the winter must be respected if the generating set is not used for a
prolonged period (over 2 months). The generating set should be stored in its normal operating position; never lay it on its side.
1.
Add preservative to the fuel tank.
2.
Run the engine for 2 to 3 minutes to distribute the fuel with preservative throughout the fuel system (faults linked to not
treating the fuel are not covered by the guarantee).
3.
With the engine warm, drain the oil .
4.
Remove the spark plug(s) (F - 2) and pour approximately 3 cl (1 oz.) of fresh engine oil into the cylinders.
5.
Replace the spark plug(s) and run the engine manually to distribute the oil.
6.
Disconnect the battery.
7.
Clean the generating set.
8. Cover the generating set with a cover to protect it from dust and store it in a clean and dry place.
