After the flushing
After flushing the heating system, you should refill and vent the system if necessary.
Take a water sample to check the water quality and record the heating flush in the system
documentation sheet.
If the water quality does not meet the requirements, it can be improved to the desired level by
means of an in-line water correction.
After the heating system has been flushed, protective measures can be taken to prevent the
heating from becoming silted up again. This can be, for example, the installation of an elector
reaction tank for electrochemical water treatment.

4.2 Special features when flushing heating systems with radiators

When installed, radiators can only be rinsed out satisfactorily with great difficulty, as there are always
corners in the components in which impurities can settle due to the low flow rate. These poorly
perfused areas cannot be reached by flushing using the alternating flushing principle with a water-
compressed air mixture.
After the cleaning agent has taken effect, the radiators should be removed from the pipe network
and the inlet and outlet pipes bridged with pressure-resistant hoses. When this has been done for all
radiators, the pipeline is flushed with the compressed air pulse method. In this way, all impurities can
be flushed out of the pipeline - all internal diameters are continuous, the flushed particles cannot be
stopped by valves.
The radiators themselves are best rinsed when they are removed. You remove all plugs from the
radiator or place them in different positions. So you can rinse the radiator from left to right, or
diagonally flowing through it with water. It is also helpful if you turn the radiator upside down.
After flushing the radiators, they can be reinstalled. The installation of new thermostatic valves is
advisable, as the old valves usually only function to a limited extent due to deposits.

4.3 Apparently blocked pipes

As long as some water - even drop by drop - passes through a pipe, it can normally be flushed
out again. This is particularly the case when a cleaning and dispersing agent such as OXILIN P-20
reaches the area of the blockage and can act there for at least 24 hours.
With the help of the changing direction of flushing, very low water pressure, pulsating air bubbles and
a lot of patience, such seemingly clogged pipelines can be reopened.
Experience has shown that the blockage is usually at the end of the pipeline. You can detach the pipe
from the manifold and carefully insert a welding wire or floral wire into the pipe. Should you achieve
the blockade, this can be loosened and flushed out.
