Chapter 3 - Installation Instructions / Operation

3.1 Accompanying measures

The result of a system flush is strongly influenced by the pretreatment of the system and the system
water. We recommend the use of a cleaning and dispersing agent such as OXLIN P-20. The cleaning
and dispersing agent OXILIN P-20 is added to the circulating water approx. 10-14 days before the
system is flushed. The agent brings heavy sludge, lime and oxide particles into a form that can be
flushed much easier. The result of the flushing is thereby significantly improved.

3.2 General connection and operating instructions

The nominal diameter of the pipelines to be flushed should not be more than d25 mm.
Make sure there is a full passage when connecting. Avoid reductions.
Only use pressure-resistant hoses with metal wire reinforcement or fabric reinforcement to
connect the pipeline to be flushed.
Secure the hoses against knocking movements caused by pressure surges.
A fresh water inlet, a waste water connection and ideally a floor drain must be available at the
installation site of the flushing device.
The flushing device is operated with drinking water or treated water. Install an RPZ valve to
ensure the drinking water quality.
You should install a pressure limiter at the inlet of the flushing device. Set the flushing pressure
to a level of 0.5 - 6 bar.
The flow velocity of the water should be 0.5 m / s in the largest pipeline to be flushed.
A commercially available oil-free air compressor is required to operate the flushing device. Make
sure that the air pressure supplied is max. 6 bar and is 1 bar above the static pressure of the
flushing water.
Note that depending on the chemical conditioning of the system water, it is not permitted to drain
the rinsing water into the public sewer system. Before flushing, check the presence of chemicals
and the correct way to dispose of them. Untreated system water and water to which only OXILIN
P-20 has been added can be discharged into the public sewer system.
