4.4 Protection against renewed silting
The silting up of a closed water circuit is always the result of water-side corrosion, which is
associated with poor water quality. The system can be protected against renewed silting by means of
effective water treatment.
Especially in case of old underfloor heating or other non-diffusion protected materials, the use of
electrochemical water treatment with the elector reaction tanks has proven itself, in addition to other
methods, to protect the heating from renewed silting. By use of electrochemical water treatment,
oxygen is continuously consumed and the pH value is stabilized at a level at which the metals can
build up their natural outer layers. In addition to low-salt water with a low electrical conductivity of
<100 µS / cm, corrosion processes and renewed silting are unlikely.
