TUNING YOUR KITE
SHIFT SYSTEM
ADJUSTING THE POWER OF YOUR KITE WITH THE TRIM STRAP:
• The trim strap is a "pull, pull" system.
• Pulling on the red handle will shorten your front lines
and the kite will have less power.
• Pulling on the blue handle will lengthen your front lines
and the kite will have more power.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR SHIFT SYSTEM:
You may find that your tensioned lines stretch at a different rate than the Shift Line. This means you will have to moni-
tor the slack in the Shift line above the Y connector. It is always a good idea to monitor your kites performance in rela-
tion to how your kite lines are stretching. If at full power the line is slack, you can shorten your connection point on the
Shift Extension line to eliminate the slack and give the kite optimal performance. You can test the slack by pulling on
the ball at the fixed point on the QRTL and watch the results at the kite. Have someone look at the shape of the leading
edge to make sure it is not flat in any way. Always check for wear on all lines and loops where friction occurs.
UNIVERSAL SYSTEM
ADJUSTING THE POWER OF YOUR KITE WITH THE SMART LOOP:
Trim Line
To depower your kite pull down on the trim line, below the
QRTL, the desired amount, then lock the line in the jam
cleat.
BAR PRESSURE:
If you want to increase the bar pressure there is an ad-
ditional rear line attachment point on the kite. (Toward the
middle of the kite).
