Invacare ® Robin™

1 General

1.1 Introduction

Thank you for choosing an Invacare product.
This user manual contains important information about the handling
of the product. In order to ensure safety when using the product,
read the user manual carefully and follow the safety instructions.
Please note that there may be sections in this user manual, which are
not relevant to your product, since this manual applies to all available
models (on the date of printing). If not otherwise stated, each section
in this manual refers to all models of the product.

1.2 Intended Use

A ceiling hoist is a battery-powered transfer device, designed to be
used indoor in normal temperature and humidity.
Common lifting situations are:
Between the bed and a wheelchair
To and from the toilet
Lowering and raising patients to/from the floor
The ceiling hoist can be used to transfer and position completely
or partially immobile patients in the recommended track system.
All position changes are possible without assistance of the patient.
The ceiling hoist is only intended to lift patients up to the maximum
weight limit stated in the user manual.
There are no known contraindications for this product. Using the
hoist for purposes other than transfer of people is not advised.

Selecting the appropriate slings and accessories for each
individual is important to assure safety when using a ceiling
hoist. See Invacare's sling and accessory user manuals for
further information on those devices.

1.3 Service Life

The ceiling hoist has an expected lifetime of 10 years when used
in accordance with safety instructions, maintenance intervals and
correct use, stated in this manual. After 10 years use, it must be
inspected by a specialized service technician before further use.
The effective product lifetime can vary according to frequency and
intensity of use. If the hoist is used in localities with increased
humidity, a reduction in lifetime must be expected.

1.4 Warranty Information

Terms and conditions of the warranty are part of the general terms
and conditions particular to the individual countries in which this
product is sold.

the back cover of this manual.
