9. STOPPING THE WATER SOFTENER

In the event of an emergency :
a. Unplug the transformer.
b. Close valves 1 and 3 and open valve 2 to give you a supply of hard
water. If the water softener has an integrated bypass, turn the handle to
bypass mode. You now have a supply of hard water (p5 c.1.).
If the property has been sold :
a. Switch the water softener to «holiday mode», see p 14.
b. Unplug the transformer.
c. Close valves 1 and 3 (open valve 2 to give you a supply of hard water –
p5 c.1.). If the water softener has an integrated bypass, turn the handle to
bypass mode. You now have a supply of hard water.

10. WARRANTY

DURLEM offers a 3-year warranty on all parts, including labour and travel, subject to the warranty terms (Not including the
electrical components 2 years). The warranty covers the water softener against all construction faults and defects as of the
date of purchase, as determined by the date on the invoice, provided it is used within the prescribed limits and installed in
accordance with the instructions in the user's guide. The warranty shall not apply if the water softener is not used as direc-
ted and :
1.
If non-potable water is used;
2.
If the characteristics of the water or the installations downstream of the device are modified;
3.
If the operating pressure exceeds 6 bar;
4.
If no working pressure reducing valve is fitted upstream of the water softener or if it has not been set at a pressure of
between 2 and 6 bar;
5.
If an inferior quality regenerant (sodium chloride) is used and/or a regenerant that does not come in tablet form;
6.
If the device is not serviced on a regular basis or is not stored and installed as directed in the user's guide;
7.
In the event of negligence on the part of the user or an intervention by an unqualified third party;
8.
If the damage is due to frost, a backflow of hot water, back pressure from the system;
9.
If the damage is caused by impact, an incorrect electrical connection, fire, flooding, etc.;
10. If the device stopped working or is malfunctioning repeatedly as a result of a power grid fault or power cut;
11.
If unauthorised material is injected upstream of the water softener;
12. If the device is not properly connected to the sewer;
13. If the device is not fitted in accordance with the installation diagram;
14. If the general installation and safety instructions are not adhered to.
Call-outs for reasons not caused by the water softener (lack of salt, incorrect use, non-conform installation) will be billed.
This list is given by way of illustration and is non-exhaustive.
DURLEM cannot be held responsible for a possible overconsumption of water. In that light, we ask users to check their water
consumption on a regular basis.

11. MAINTENANCE

In accordance with European standard EN 14743 on water conditioning equipment inside buildings - softeners - require-
ments for performance, safety and testing, your water softener should be serviced once a year.
This must be done by the manufacturer or by an approved installer.
It is up to the customer/user to make the necessary arrangements for the annual service.
