1. GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.1. Pressure
This product operates hydraulically under water pressure (min. 2 bar – max. 6 bar).
1.2. Electrical connection
Make sure that the power supply cannot be cut by a switch upstream of the system. A damaged cable and/or power supply unit
must be replaced by a qualified person.
1.3. Existing plumbing
The plumbing must be in good condition and show few signs of furring. It is always advisable to fit a pre-filter. The water inlet, the
distribution within the system and the connection to the sewer must be in compliance with the legislation prevailing at the time of
installation.
1.4. Water temperature
This product is designed to work with cold water pipes only and at a water temperature of between 5°C and 25°C.
1.5. Location
The floor where the water softener will be positioned must be level, clean and stable. There must be a drain in the vicinity of the
device.
There must be a regulatory socket with earth connection that is not controlled by a switch in the vicinity of the device.
The room must be frost-free in winter and protected from the heat of the sun in summer. The water softener operates at ambient
temperatures of between 5°C and 35°C.

2. SAFETY AND USER INSTRUCTIONS

Read all instructions before using the water softener
2.1. Damage as a result of non-compliance with the user's guide or incorrect installation is not covered by the warranty.
The manufacturer/importer is not responsible for damage ensuing from the failure to adhere to the instructions in this
user's guide.
2.2. This product has been designed to treat drinking water. Changes in the water characteristics may affect the lifespan
of the product.
2.3. This product works with cold-water pipes only.
2.4. It is strictly forbidden to install this product upstream of the water meter.
2.5.
To ensure conformity of the device's installation, the pressure reducing valve DURLEM supplied must be connected.
2.6. Do not place any object or device on top of the product.
2.7. Do not remove the salt tank in the lower part of mono-block softeners to access the hydraulics or electrics. Do not
open the lid to access the hydraulics or electrics of DUO softeners. Only a qualified technician, approved by the ma-
nufacturer, is entitled to interfere with the hydraulics and electrics.
2.8. This product must be protected against the backflow of hot water (we recommend fitting a check valve), back
pressure from the installation (we recommend fitting an anti-water hammer valve) and the injection of unauthorised
material upstream of the product.
2.9. This product cannot be installed outside.
2.10.
This product cannot be used by children.
2.11. Children or persons who are unable to assess the risks associated with this product should not use this product unsu-
pervised.
2.12. This product must be installed in a place that is frost-free and cannot be accessed by unauthorised persons.
2.13.
Certain systems upstream of this product may shorten its lifespan.
2.14. Non-compliance with the hygiene instructions, damage caused by impact, the incorrect connection to the power sup-
ply, flooding, fire, etc. will shorten the lifespan of the product.
2.15.
The failure to use original parts may cause the product to malfunction. In the event of problems, only a qualified tech-
nician approved by the manufacturer is entitled to service the product.
2.16. The user must check his water and salt consumption on a regular basis. In the event of overconsumption, the user
needs to switch off the product as directed in the user's guide. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for overcons-
umption.
The safety and other instructions in this guide do not cover all the eventualities that may present themselves. It goes
without saying that this product must be operated with common sense, caution and care. It is therefore essential that
the person or persons operating this product adhere to these criteria.
2.17. To be covered by warranty, this device must be installed by a qualified person in accordance with the installation
diagram.
