Checks after installation

Follow the steps described below to check that this drive is recognized properly.
Checking with [My Computer]
Windows 98/Me/2000
If this drive was correctly connected and the driver pro-
grams were properly installed, 2 icons for DVD-RAM disc
and CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW will be
added in [My Computer].
In the example on the right, each drive is recognized as
follows:
Drive name E: Removable Disk (DVD-RAM discs)
Drive name D: CD-ROM
(CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW/
DVD-R/DVD-RW discs)

If the correct icons do not appear, select [Refresh] from
the [View] pull-down menu.

When reading or writing in DVD–RAM format, use drive
E. When reading or writing in any other disc format,
use drive D.
•
Depending on the system configuration, it may be
possible to change the drive name (alphabet).
Windows XP
When this drive has been correctly connected, the icon
for this drive will be added in [My Computer].
In the example at right, this drive is assigned the drive
name D.
•
If the correct icons do not appear, select [Refresh] from
the [View] pull-down menu.
