PREPARE THE CEMENTATION OF THE BOX
N
- Dig the pit fully up to the wall or gate post, keeping to the dimensions indicated in the
G
drawing and remembering that the hinge centre should fall half way along the Ø 500
dimension (fig 5).
L
- Attach a 50 mm PVC tube to the water drain outlet on one side of the box, and a heavy
I
duty flexible insulating tube of Ø 32 mm max to the power cable outlet (Electrical
connections are made remote from the unit internally of a sealed junction box, which
S
can be either let into a wall or surface mounted, but must in any event be installed at a
H
minimum height above ground sufficient to ensure compliance with safety standards).
- Position the foundation box in the pit so that the topmost surface of the cover is flush
with the finished floor or paving.
MAGIC 105° INSTALLATION
- Anchor the box with cement mortar, taking care that none of the mix finds its way into
the enclosure, and checking that the shorter sides are faultlessly parallel with the
gate when in the SHUT position.
- Couple the transmission lever to the output shaft after you have greased it, checking
first that the bronze thrust bearing is fitted to the shaft.
The connection between gate and lever can be made as indicated in figs 7 and 8.
NB - When converting an existing gate with a load bearing support at ground level, the
MAGIC unit can be utilized as a replacement support (see installation fig 8).
MAGIC 180° INSTALLATION
The MAGIC 180° is universal and can be fitted to a left or right hand opening gate; the
procedure is the same as for the 105°, with the following exception:
- Anchor the box with cement mortar, taking care that none of the mix finds its way into
the enclosure, and checking that the shorter sides are faultlessly square with the
gate when in the SHUT position, depending on the required opening arc.
The connection between gate and lever can be made as indicated in figs 9 and 10.
NB - When converting an existing gate with a load bearing support at ground level, the
MAGIC unit can be utilized as a replacement support (see installation fig 10).

A - DO NOT USE
B - Weld to the gate with the pivot, as shown in Fig. 7.
FIG.8 - TRANSMISSION LEVER GATE LOAD-BEARING SUPPORT
A - Use only when the gate weighs excessively on the motor.
B - Weld with the pivot inserted half-way into the transmission lever slot, as shown in Fig.
8.
FIG.9 - TRANSMISSION LEVER
WITH MAXIMUM OPENING ARC OF 155°
A - DO NOT USE
B - Weld to the gate with pivot as shown in Fig. 9.
FIG.10 - TRANSMISSION LEVER
WITH MAXIMUM OPENING ARC OF 180°
A - Use only when the gate weighs on the motor. N.B. Do not use with load-bearing
hinges.
