Access control

Electrically activate outside door handles

With a two-part handle follower in combination with a two-part handle pin, the electric security lock 809
provides access control. The outside handle pin can be electrically activated or deactivated (fail-locked or
fail-unlocked depending on product version) such that the door handle which initially has no function can
be used to open the door. The electrical contact can, for example, take place from the inside or outside by
means of a push-button, magnetic card reader, fingerprint reader or door code system.

Permanently electrically activate outside door handles

Impor tant!
Permanent application of current only with stabilised direct voltage: A two-part permanent applica-
tion of current for the lock, e.g. by means a switching time, may only take place with a stabilised direct
voltage ("Electrical accessories", page 60).
The outside handle pin can also be permanently electrically activated so that a door controlled with e.g. a
switch or switching timer can be opened from the outside at specific times of day.

Electrically activate both door handles

Warning!
No panic functionality for door handles on both sides without function: The product version with
deactivated door handles on both sides offers no panic functionality and may not be mounted in escape
route doors Tab. 1.
Some product versions offer the possibility of checking both passage directions, wherein the door handles
on both sides initially have no function and can be electrically activated or deactivated. In this case the
inside and outside door handles are connected to each other by a handle pin passing through the door.

Status messages for the control system

In the electric security lock 809 there are four monitoring contacts (Tab. 5) which serve as an electronic transmit-
ter for superordinate control systems. All monitoring contacts are potential-free switching contacts (Pic. 8).
