Before fi rst use
ATTENTION!
■ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. Danger of suffocation
exists!
■ Before start-up / cleaning, observe all notes in the chapters "Start-up", "Mak-
ing espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato" as well as "Care and storage". Fa-
miliarise yourself with the device before disassembling or cleaning it.
■ The device and accessories may have residues from production. Clean the device
and the accessories prior to using it for the fi rst time as described in these instructions.
■ Never submerge the device, the mains cord or the mains plug in water or other liquids.
■ Make sure that the milk nozzle is pointing into the cup under the espresso spout to
prevent any accidental, uncontrolled emission of hot milk from the milk nozzle.
■ When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners. They could damage
the surface!
1. Unpack all parts and make sure that the scope of delivery is complete (see chapters
"Product contents and device overview") and check for any damages from transport.
Remove any existing foils and stickers from the device. If you identify damages to
the components, do not use them (!), instead contact our customer service centre.
2. Remove the orange transport guard on the bottom of the water tank (13) before
fi rst use.
3. Clean the water tank (13), the milk tank (7), the fi lter holders (19), the espresso fi lters
(14+15) and the measuring spoon (17) with warm water and a small amount of deter-
gent. Then dry all parts thoroughly before putting them back in the device.
4. Before fi rst use, we recommend performing a cleaning cycle (without espresso powder)
to rinse out the lines etc. and remove any production residue. A detailed description of
how to assemble and use the device is provided in the chapters "Start-up" and "Use":
– Fill the water tank (13) and the milk tank (7) with water. Observe the MIN and
MAX marks on the containers and insert them in the device.
– Insert the water and the milk tank in the device.
– Place the fi lter holder (19) with the fi lter (14 or 15) (without espresso powder)
in the device.
– Place a large cup on the cup grate (9) under the espresso spout (18). Make
sure that the milk nozzle (6) is pointing into the cup!
– Connect the device to a properly installed socket.
– Move the On/Off switch on the side of the device to position I. Wait until the LED
indicator stops blinking and is continuously illuminated.
– Push the Cappuccino button on the control panel (12) twice.
– Wait until no more water is dispensed from the espresso spout (18) and the
LED indicator is continuously illuminated. Repeat the cleaning cycle one to two
times.
5. Turn the device off by setting the On/Off switch to position 0 and pull the mains plug
out of the socket.
6. Remove any leftover water from the water and milk tank. Your device is now ready
for operation.
