Prior to fi rst use
Before using the appliance for the fi rst time you must:
• unpack the product contents,
• clean the appliance.

Unpacking

ATTENTION!
❐ Keep children and pets away from the packaging. Danger of suffocation exists!
Unpack all parts and make sure that the product contents are complete (see section "Product
content and appliance overview") and check for any damages from transport. If you identify
damages to the components, do not use them (!), instead contact our customer service centre.

Cleaning

ATTENTION!
❐ There may be some production residues stuck to the product. To avoid health risks, clean
it thoroughly before fi rst use.
1. Clean the removable fi lter insert, the permanent fi lter and the insulated fl asks in warm
water with a mild detergent.
2. To remove any product residue, let a complete water tank circulate through the appliance
without coffee grounds before using the appliance for the fi rst time.Observe the steps
described in the section "Use" in order to start up the appliance.

Use

ATTENTION!
❐ It is possible that smoke and odour may be produced the fi rst few times water is circu-
lated. This is not a production defect and disappears after a short time.
❐ Noises during the heating and cooling phase indicate that the individual parts of the appli-
ance are expanding and contracting.
❐ Scalding hazard! Do not open the water tank lid during use; otherwise hot steam could be
emitted.
❐ Do not overfi ll the appliance. If you add water to the water tank of the appliance, make
sure that you do not exceed the MAX mark of the water level gauge.
1. Place the appliance on a dry, level and heat-resistant base.
2. Connect the appliance to a properly installed socket.
