Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
■ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
1. Unpack the device and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items
Supplied and Device Overview" chapter) and possible transport damage. If you fi nd
any damage, do not use the device (!), but rather contact the customer service de-
partment.
2. Remove any fi lms and stickers that may be present from the device.
3. Place the device on a level, fi rm and heat-resistant surface. Make sure it is a suffi -
cient distance away from kitchen wall units etc. as steam will escape from the device.
4. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed, easily accessible plug socket which
corresponds to the technical data of the device. The display lights up and the time
display fl ashes.
5. Flush through the lines etc. and rid them of any possible production residues: let two
full tanks of water run through the coffee machine without any coffee powder or coffee
beans and then pour away the water. Follow the "Use" chapter to do this.
6. Clean all accessories with warm water and a little detergent.

Use

CAUTION!
■ In the interest of your own safety, you should inspect the device for damage each
time before you use it. Only use it if the device, mains cable and mains plug have no
signs of damage!
■ Do not operate the device unattended so that you can intervene immediately in the
event of any malfunctions (e.g. overfl ow etc.). If the permanent fi lter does overfl ow,
switch the device off immediately and allow all accessories to cool down before you
remove them.
■ Clean the device after each use and regularly descale it if necessary in the manner
described in the "Cleaning and Descaling" chapter.
Setting the Time
• The time needs to be set when the device is connected to the mains power.
To change the time, the device must be briefl y disconnected from the mains
power.
• Keep pressing the relevant button until the time you want is displayed. To run
through the digits quickly, hold down the buttons.
1. Set the hours (24-hour mode) with the Std (hr) button (15).
2. Set the minutes with the Min button (16).
3. The time display stops fl ashing after around 8 seconds. The time is set.
