Before Initial Use

Before you can use the device, you must:
• unpack the items supplied,
• clean the device.

Unpacking the Items Supplied

CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
Unpack all parts and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items Sup-
plied and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If you fi nd any damage
to the components, do not use them (!), but contact our customer service department.

Cleaning the Device

CAUTION!
❐ Before using the device for the fi rst time, note the instructions in the "Use" chapter.
❐ Before you fi rst clean it, also note the instructions in the "Care and Descaling" chapter.
❐ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These could
damage the surface.
1. The compartment for coffee pad is stowed in the water tank upon delivery. Remove
it by fl ipping the water tank cover up.
2. Clean the compartment for coffee pad and the coffee cup with hot water and a little
detergent if necessary.
3. Then dry the compartment for coffee pad and the coffee cup thoroughly.
4. Mount the compartment for the coffee pad in the designated bracket on the coffee
maker once it is completely dry.
5. Before you fi rst use the device, we recommend that you let two to three full reservoirs
of water run through the coffee machine (without any coffee powder in the fi lter) in order
to fl ush through all the lines etc. and to rid them of any possible production residues.

Use

CAUTION!
❐ Do not operate the device unattended so that you can intervene immediately in the
event of any malfunctions (e. g. overfl ow of the fi lter etc.).
❐ Beware of steam escaping! Never open the water reservoir cover during use! Hot
steam or hot spray water may escape.
❐ Before you fi rst operate the device, make sure that the water reservoir cover is
closed and the compartment for coffee pad is inserted correctly so that the water
can run through the coffee pad without any problems.
