Before fi rst use
Before you can use the device, you must:
• unpack the product contents,
• clean the device.

Unpacking the product contents

ATTENTION!
❐ Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
Unpack all parts and make sure that the product contents are complete (see chapter "Product
contents and device overview") and that there are no transport damages. If you identify dam-
ages to the components, do not use them (!), instead contact the customer service department

Cleaning the device

ATTENTION!
❐ When cleaning for the fi rst time, please observe the instructions in the chapter "Cleaning
and decalcifying the device".
❐ Do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners for cleaning. They could damage the surface!
❐ Before using the device, please observe the instructions in the chapter "Brewing coffee".
1. Flip up the water tank / fi lter compartment cover.
2. Take the fi lter insert and permanent fi lter out of the fi lter compartment.
3. Clean both the fi lter insert, permanent fi lter and the coffee pot with hot water and, if
necessary, a small amount of mild detergent. Do not clean the parts in the dishwasher!
4. Then dry the fi lter insert, the permanent fi lter and coffee pot thoroughly.
5. Place the fi lter insert and permanent fi lter back in the fi lter compartment once they are
completely dry.
6. Before fi rst use, we recommend fi lling the water tank two to three times, each time allow-
ing the water to circulate (without coffee powder in the fi lter!) in order to rinse out the
lines etc. and remove any production residue.

Brewing coffee

ATTENTION!
❐ Do not leave the device unattended when operating so that you can immediately intervene
in the event of malfunctions (e. g. overfl owing of the fi lter etc.).
❐ Caution: Risk of emitted steam! Never open the water tank / fi lter compartment cover
when the device is in use. Hot steam may be emitted or hot water may spray out of the
device.
