6.3 - INSTALL AND CONNECT FL100W FLASHING INDICA-
TOR VIA RADIO
Warnings: • Do not remove the lens diffuser which covers the Led; this
can cause danger to the eyes in that the Led emits concentrated light •
The location chosen for installation must have the following characteristics:
– Choose the place and position in which to install the device. Gener-
ally, the device must be positioned with the solar cell facing the sky,
and orientated towards NORTH or SOUTH. Check estimated auton-
omy (paragraph 3.2.1). To increase battery life it is recommended,
where practical and preferable, to point the cell in the direction of
maximum sunlight. In each case however, comply with the rules for
choosing the position of the flashing indicator (distance from the leaf
and height from the ground).
– the positions shown in fig. 34 are the only ones allowed for device
installation;
– the position must be away from plants, canopies, walls or other
items which could obscure the solar cell, even partially, for a large
part of the day. In these cases, to minimise the power autonomy
reduction, it is preferable to direct the cell slightly towards the right or
left, with respect to the ideal position;
– the position must allow fully visibility of the device, even from a long
distance;
– the position must allow, in future, easy access for cleaning and
maintenance (battery change).
• Make sure that the surface to which the device will be fixed is solid
and can ensure a stable attachment.
To install the unit, proceed as follows:
01. Remove FL100W as shown in fig. 35. Caution! – Do not remove any
parts other than those shown in the figure.
02. In Table 8 choose the function that you wish to assign to the device,
and position the jumper with the configuration shown in the table.
03. Move FL100W close to the control unit and program it: see para-
graph 7.3 - STEP 7.
04. Provisionally position FL100W in the location intended for its instal-
lation. Finally, proceed to verification of correct operation of all sys-
tem devices, carrying out the Testing of the system as a whole as
described in STEP 8, paragraph 8.2.
05. Once testing is complete, affix the device firmly, as shown in fig. 36
or fig. 37 and in the warnings that follow.
a) Fixing on horizontal plane (fig. 36). Before permanently fixing
the transparent cone to the surface, you should check its orientation.
In this way, once assembly is complete the cell will be facing in the
exact direction which was established in point 01 of this paragraph.
a) Fixing on horizontal wall (fig. 37). Before permanently fixing the
transparent cone to the surface, you should check its orientation and
