Recirculation Modes

Rinnai Circ-Logic™ offers homeowners enhanced
convenience and energy efficiency in home hot water
recirculation systems with a dedicated return line or
cross over return using the included thermal bypass
valve.
Circ-Logic™ has been designed to provide
homeowners with the ability to customize their
recirculation systems based on such key variables as
length of recirculation loop, piping insulation, and the
homeowner's comfort and efficiency preferences.
Sequence of Operation
DIP switches (SW 4, 7, & 8 in DIPSW 2) should be set
correctly for recirculation mode. The Rinnai water
heater should be turned on.
Pump recirculation begins when the water heater is
turned on. The Rinnai inlet and/or outlet thermistors
measure the water temperature.
The cycle will restart at the approximate time
intervals based on the application (Cross over or
Dedicated mode, set temperature, and preset mode
ie. Comfort or Economy)
NOTE
Rinnai strongly recommends installing insulation to
the hot water and dedicated return lines to decrease
the amount of heat loss .
Dedicated Mode
Dedicated mode requires that a dedicated line be
installed in the application; Refer to Installation of
Plumbing section (Dedicated Mode Plumbing Diagram)
Dedicated Return Line:

Dedicated return line will run from point of use
located farthest away from tankless water heater.

Less energy is consumed due to fewer pump
cycles

When the return water temperature reaches
approximately 12.6°F (7°C) below the selected
temperature setting, the water heater and pump
will turn off.
