Check the seal on the suit valve

The test is described for the test device Porta Control 3000.
You can carry out the tests with other test devices, but the
indicated values must be observed.
Carry out the test according to EN 943-1:2015, 6.5.1, however
with 10 mbar overpressure, at constant room temperature
(20 °C ±5 °C).
The compressed air used must comply with the requirements
of EN 12021.
The required test accessories are listed in the order list (see
Chapter 11 on Page 41).
1. Remove the blow up valve with plug-in coupling from the
hose.
2. Connect the hose end to the test unit.
3. Insert the pumping ball on the relief valve into the black
hose in a way that the arrow on the pumping ball points
toward the relief valve.
4. Moisten the valve disc with clear water and fit.
5. Fit the test cap from the outside on the valve and connect
it to the test unit via the connection hose.
6. Open the relief valve and create an overpressure of
+10 mbar with the pumping ball. Close the relief valve.
7. Set a test time of 1 minute and start the stopwatch.
8. Read off the pressure on the test unit at the end of the test
time.
If the pressure change is less than 1 mbar, the suit valve is OK.
In this case:
1. Disassemble test setup.
2. Fit the protective cap onto the suit valve.
If the pressure change is greater than 1 mbar:
1. Remove the valve disc and conduct a visual inspection.
The valve disc and valve seat must be clean and
undamaged.
2. If necessary, replace the valve disc (see Chap. 6.7.2 on
Page 34).
3. Repeat the test.

Special maintenance work

Check for leaks again after maintenance work and/or replacing
parts. We recommend that all repairs be conducted by Dräger.
6.7.1
Replacing gloves
WARNING
!
If the chemical protective suit is equipped with a glove
combinations, the glove combinations must be
removed, disposed of and replaced with a new glove
combination. No assurance has been made that the
material will be able to withstand repeated chemical
exposure.
Do not use talcum for fitting the gloves. Otherwise the
gloves may slip out if the user exerts too much
pressure on the glove from inside by stretching too
much.
Always replace gloves or glove combinations as follows:
1. Remove overglove and rubber ring (if fitted).
2. Lift the arm ring with the thumb and press the support ring,
on which the glove is located, out of the sleeve.
3. All gloves except foil glove combinations:
Pull the new glove onto the support ring and align at the
arm ring. The long axis of the elliptical support ring points
parallel to the hand surface.
Make sure that no wrinkles develop between glove and
support ring.
4. Insert a glove with support ring or new glove combination
through the open closure system into the chemical
protection suit sleeve.
5. Insert glove with support ring or new glove combination
through the arm ring and align:
The left glove goes into the left sleeve, and the right into
the right sleeve.
The back of the hand points to the sleeve seam.
6. Push the glove unit into the arm ring until the edge of the
support ring is in contact with the edge of the arm ring.
The support ring must sit completely in the gap of the arm
ring.
7. Fit the overgloves (if desired):
Pull the K-MEX-Gigant overglove over the arm ring and
secure it with the corresponding rubber ring.
Pull the Tricotril overglove over the arm ring and secure
it with the corresponding rubber ring.
8. Check the seal on the chemical protective suit (see
Chapter 6.5 on Page 33).
6.7.2
Replace valve disc
1. Unfasten protective cap and old valve disc. Do not damage
the valve housing plug.
2. Fit a new valve disc.
3. Place the protective cap onto the training suit.
