Engine test

Remarks:
Conduct the engine test only if the engine type to be tested
corresponds to the type indicated in the status line. Carry out the
setting on the way indicated at section 4.6 "Setting the engine-
specific data".
Spark-ignition engine
F1: Measurement of the battery voltage, of the engine speed or
of the current.
Oscillogram: Voltage to B+ (AC coupling) for checking the
generator (upper ripple)
F2: Measurement of the voltage at the terminal 15 (+) of ignition
coil, of the engine speed or measurement of oil temperature
Oscillogram: primary voltage (range: 500 V/720° or 360°
crankshaft)
(does not apply when diesel adapter plugged in)
F3: Sub-program primary ignition circuit (4.1.1)
(does not apply when diesel adapter plugged in)
F4: Sub-program measurement of ignition point/ignition advance
or beginning of injection and injection timing (4.1.2)
F5: Sub-program cylinder comparison/cylinder balance/
dynamic compression measurement (4.1.3)
(does not apply when diesel adapter plugged in)
Remarks:
Perform zero point calibration of current measurement in
measurement program "Multitest". Therefore measurements of
small currents are possible (higher resolution).

Diesel engine (only if diesel adapter is plugged in)
Engine test measuring range if diesel adapter is plugged
F1: Measurement of the battery voltage, of the current (e.g.:
starting motor current, charging current,) and engine speed
with clip-on sensor or TDC sensor.
Oscillogram:
Voltage to B+ (AC coupling) for checking the generator
(upper ripple)
Remarks:
Oscilloscope triggering and identification of cylinder 1 are
out of operation (the image is rolling).
F4: Sub-program: beginning of injection and injection timing of
diesel engines (see also Section 4.3)
The measuring programs primary ignition circuit (F2/F3) and
cylinder comparison/dynamic compression (F5) are not carried
out.
