Select a location for installation that is not exposed to direct sunlight (to avoid
measuring errors for temperature and humidity). Keep sufficient clearance to
radiators.
Fold open the base (7) of the weather station.
Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using an appropriate underlay, otherwise it may
cause scratches.
Also observe chapter 17 regarding setting up the weather station and the outdoor
sensor.
• The weather station and outdoor sensor have now been both successfully started up.

10. DCF signal reception

a) General
The DCF signal is a signal broadcast from a
transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am
Main). It has a range of up to 1500 km, increasing
to 2000 km in ideal reception conditions.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the
precise time (theoretical deviation of 1 second in a
million years!) and the date.
Of course, this eliminates the tedious manual
setting of summer and winter time on the weather
station, since the time change occurs automatically.
The first DCF reception test is performed once the
weather station has completed the search for the
outdoor sensors.
Searching for the DCF signal and its evaluation will take a few minutes. Do not move
the weather station during this time and do not push any buttons.
More reception attempts are performed at midnight, 03:00 a.m., 06:00 a.m. and noon.
A single successful reception per day will keep the deviation of the quartz clock in the weather
station below a second.
