• Then the reception icon flashes on the left of the display (17).
The weather station is now scanning for the outdoor sensor signal. If no outdoor sensor is
recognised (e.g. because no batteries are inserted into the outdoor sensor yet), you may start
the search manually later; see chapter 11.
• After completing the sensor search, the reception icon for the DCF signal (15) flashes on the
display. The number of circles visible depends on the strength of the DCF signal.
Weak signal → strong signal
Place the weather station e.g. close to a window. Maintain a distance of at least 1 m
to other electronic devices (TV, computer, phone) and metal parts (e.g. radiator).
Bad reception can also be caused by e.g. metallised insulated glass, reinforced
concrete construction design, coated special wallpaper or installation in cellars.
If a good reception position was found, do not move the weather station during that
time. Do not press any buttons on the weather station.
The detection of the DCF signal and its evaluation can last a few minutes.
For more information about DCF reception, see chapter 10.
• After proper recognition and evaluation of the DCF signal, the correct time is displayed at the
bottom of the display (16).
If this is not the case, remove the batteries from the weather station briefly or start another
search for the DCF signal; see chapter 10. b).
Manual setting of the time/date is possible as well; please see chapter 12. a).
