4.4 - Procédure à suivre en cas de
retournement (Fig. 4.4)
Dans le cas d'un chavirement, chacun
doit rester autour de l'embarcation, côté
droit.
Deux membres d'équipage regagnent
le canot, déploient et tirent les drisses
de
retournement
complètement le canot (Fig. 4.4).
Si, en raison des vagues ou du vent,
l'embarcation tourne de son côté droit,
l'équipage doit regagner rapidement le
côté gauche en passant par l'avant.
Personne ne doit rester à proximité du
moteur
durant
retournement.
Le
canot peut prendre jusqu'à 1 minute.
Commencer alors la procédure de
séchage du moteur, des carburateurs
et des bougies.
4.5 - Si le moteur tombe en panne
Par mer grosse, tourner le bateau face
au vent en utilisant les pagaies.
Attacher l'amarre de l'ancre flottante
(rangée dans le sac armement) au V de
remorquage à l'avant du bateau. Jeter
l'ancre à la mer. Elle maintiendra
l'embarcation face au vent pendant que
vous séchez le moteur ou que vous
attendez les secours.

In the event of capsizing, everyone
should stay with the boat, starboard
side.
Two crew members reach the boat to
pull the righting lines so that the boat will
flip over right side up (Fig. 4.4).
If due to wind and sea state, the boat
uprights on starboard side, the crew
must rapidly reach the left side from the
forward.
During righting operation, no one should
be near the engine. Self righting of the
boat takes approximately 1 minute.
Start the procedure to dry the engine,
carburetors and spark plugs as outlined
in engine operators manual.
4.5 - If the engine will not operate
In heavy seas, turn the bow into the wind
using the paddles. Find the sea anchor
in the equipment bag. Attach it to the
bow V towing bridle and throw it to the
water. It will keep the boat into the wind,
while drying the engine or waiting for
outside help.
