Positioning the logs

Position the logs as follows:
• Lay the large log on the right-hand log support, parallel
to the front burner. Make sure to leave approx. 10 mm
between the back burner and the log, see fig. 8a.
• Sprinkle the vermiculite evenly on the burner trays, making
sure that not too much gets onto the ignition points with
overflow burner, see 2 in figs. 8a and 8b.
• Arrange the black chips on top of the vermiculite tray (3),
see figs. 8a and 8b. Make sure that the holes are not
completely covered as this would affect the flames.
Covering too many holes would block the air supply.
Advice: arrange the chips so that they overlap. (The
vermiculite and the chips are packed in plastic bags with
the log set).
• Make sure no vermiculite or chips get in between the pilot
light burner and the overflow burner, see 2 in figs. 8a and
8b, as this could prevent them from working properly.
• Position the other logs as illustrated in fig. 8c.
• A glow can be created on the front burner by laying a few
black chips on it.
Do not use any materials other than those supplied. The
supplied materials are incombustible and have been
manufactured specifically for this appliance.

Fitting the glass panel

Once the logs are in place, the glass can be replaced in the
brackets nges and tightened with the three socket-head
bolts. In the event of damage or breakage, the glass should
be replaced immediately.

Mounting the front panel

The coloured or stainless steel frame (A) is packed
separately from the basic set. This frame must be put on to
the 2 hinges on the right hand side. For safety reasons a
guard should be placed in front of the fire at all times.
For safety reasons a guard should be placed in
front of the fire at all times.

Remote control

Remote control is supplied as a standard accessory. The
heater has a freely adjustable. Batteries, with a life
expectancy of approximately one year, feed the electrical
supply. The remote control will only work if the pilot light
is lit.

Connecting the Receiver

The remote control system comprises a receiver and a
remote control, packed together in one box. The receiver
must be connected to the appliance fitting the batteries.
This is done as
follows:
• Take the receiver
out of the box.
• Slide the white plug
of the cable onto
the receiver circuit
board (fig. 9).
• Connect the wires
to the connectors
on the gas control
valve.The different
sized plugs correspond with the connectors on the gas
control valve.
• Open the lid.
• Insert 4 penlight batteries (type AA). Make sure they are
the right way round.
• Replace the lid.
• Place the reciever under the aplicance on the floor. Place
the reciever as far away from the burner tray as possible
to prevent the reciever from getting too hot. Making sure
that the red "LED" points forwards.

Replacing the batteries in the receiver

• Open the door at the front.
• Take the receiver and open the lid.The batteries are under
that cover.
• Remove the old batteries and insert the new ones, making
sure that the + and – signs on the batteries correspond
with those in the holder.
Inserting or replacing the batteries
in the remote control
• Remove the cover on the back of the remote control.
• Connect a square battery (type 6LR61) to the clip.
• Fit the battery in the holder.
• Replace the cover.
• The temperature is shown on the display in Fahrenheit,
press both buttons for a few seconds and it will change to
Celsius.
NB: Do not throw old batteries in the dustbin. They
should be treated as Chemical Waste.
For the optimal functioning and longer useful life of its
appliance, Dru advises the use of Duracell batteries.
