Please note the following:

Read these instructions through thoroughly before use. Persons who have not fully familiarised
themselves with these instructions and children should not attempt to use the apparatus.
The Dehydrator must only be used for the purposes described. The manufacturer disclaims all
responsibility, legal or otherwise, for any damage caused to any person(s) or property arising
from the misuse or misapplication of the appliance or by any departure from the instructions
given herein.

Preliminary Checks

Ensure that the electricity supply matches the one marked on the rating plate on the apparatus.
Check that the mains cable and plug are in good condition. Make sure that the mains cable
(and any extension cable used) is arranged so as not to form a tripping hazard and is not in a
position where it maybe tugged so as to topple the Dehydrator. Keep the cable away from hot
surfaces and other objects which may damage it.

Putting into Service

s When first using the Dehydrator, ensure that the above notes have been observed and that
it is standing on a dry, even, non-slip surface so that it will not rock or slide.
s Do not attempt to use it if there is any sign of damage to it or the mains cable!
s When commencing use, let the Dehydrator run empty up to the maximum temperature (70° C)
for 10 minutes, rinse the drying trays and lid (but not the base unit) with warm water and
dry with a clean cloth. You are now ready to proceed!
s Place the product(s) to be dried in the drying tray and place the tray on the base unit.
Up to a maximum of 10 trays can be used simultaneously. Put on the lid, plug in the mains
cable to start the fan base unit and set the regulator to the required position in accordance
with pages 54 and 55.
s Use only under constant supervision.
s The apparatus will become hot during use.
s Do not move whilst hot.
s Use only the original accessories.

Fire risk
Never place a cloth or similar over the Dehydrator as this will create a fire risk. The air-inlet
and air-outlets of the Dehydrator must remain free at all times and must never be obstructed.
Energy consumption
The «dörrex» uses 18 W in basic operation mode (with fan running). When the
heating element is activated (LED illuminated), the energy consumption rises to
600 Watt. The level of energy consumption of the «dörrex» depends on the following
factors: room temperature, number of drying trays used and temperature setting.
Cleaning
s Always remove the mains plug before cleaning.
s Allow plenty of time for the appliance to cool down (ca. 30 min.).
s The trays may be washed using ordinary washing-up liquid. The trays are dishwasher-safe.
s The lower body section of the appliance must never be immersed in water or any other liquid
(danger of short-circuit). The cover and the lower body section of the appliance should only
be cleaned with a damp cloth.
s The Dehydrator housing may only be opened and tools or other objects may only be inserted
into the unit by a properly qualified person.

Faults and Repairs

If the appliance becomes damaged or defective, remove the mains plug at once. In case of
a technical malfunction of the «dörrex» due to, for example, an accumulation of heat in the lower
part, the fuse cuts the energy supply to the unit and the unit is automatically switched off.
Probable causes: The most likely cause of automatic shutdown is poor air circulation through
obstruction of the air-inlet, overloading of the drying trays or failure of the fan motor.
Remedies: Remove the mains plug at once, allow the Dehydrator to cool down, remove any excess
product from the drying trays, reinsert the mains plug and try again. If a further cut-out takes
place, the unit should he returned to the manufacturer for repair. If the power cable to the unit is
damaged, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised repair agency representative
or a similarly qualified person, in order to avoid endangering the user. Any repair, or attempted
repair, by anyone other then the manufacturer or his authorised repair agency, will invalidate
the remaining warranty and absolve the manufacturer from any further liability.
Storing the Dehydrator
s The power cable can be stowed in the special compartment provided on the base unit.
s Store the apparatus in a clean, dry location out of the reach of children.
