Remove the battery clips from the batteries, If the vehicle
is equipped with an ABS system, or other electronic de-
vices, loosen the corresponding plugs in the vehicle cab-
in.

Determine the applicable fitting height (dimension C), ei-
ther from the FITTING DRAWING supplied with the HTL,
or from the TECHNICAL SUMMARY for the type of HTL
concerned.
•
The fitting height C is measured from the top
of the loading floor of the vehicle to the centre
of the lift arm articulation pin. Take clear
notice how the measure this dimension [See
Fig. 3.3, 3.4].
•
As a general rule, in absence of a FITTING DRAWING
with confirmed fitting height C, this dimension can be cal-
culated as follows:
Loading floor height K - 140
Fitting height C =
Ex. For vehicle with 1250mm loading floor:
Fitting height C = (1250-140)/2 = 555 mm
•
In some instances, you might want to fit the HTL higher or
lower than the calculated fitting height C.
1. In order to increase the ground clearance for instance,
you might want to fit the HTL higher.
2. Or in order to avoid the spring hangars of a mechani-
cal vehicle suspension, you might want to fit the HTL
lower.
•
When changing the fitting height, refer to the
TECHNICAL SUMMARY of the HTL con-
cerned, and make sure to stay within the given
ranges of the dimensions K, C and CO given
for every lift arm [See Fig. 3.5].
