Checking the battery

Before using the battery for the first time after purchase, check to see if it is fully charged.
1) Press the battery level button to see if the five battery level indication lamps light.
● If all five of the battery level indication lamps do not light, charge the battery by the exclusive charger. ( page 18)
Warning
Do not use battery whose case is damaged or cracked.
Use of battery with damaged cases, etc. may cause liquid leakage and get into the eyes and cause blindness.
Caution
Do not place battery at wet locations or locations dirtied with oil or mud.
● Doing so may cause battery malfunction.
Grip the battery handle with one hand, and carry battery supported with the other hand to prevent them from being dropped.
● Dropping battery may cause damage or injury.
Attention
● Be sure to use only the designated battery.
Failure to observe this may result in a drop in the travelling performance of the electric bicycle or cause the motor unit or console to
malfunction.
● When using a non-designated battery, the safety circuit may be activated, and prevent both charging and discharging.
Note
● Due to the characteristics of the battery, the following may occur, but do not indicate a problem.
– In cold weather, battery performance may decrease, resulting in decreased travellable distance or decreased assist force.
This performance decrease may be mitigated by storing the battery in a warm room, and mounting the battery on the electric bicycle only
during use.
– Even when the battery is not used, it will naturally discharge over time, and may be unable to travel the standard travellable distance.
Check the battery level prior to departure.
– If the battery is subjected to excessive recharge cycles or prolonged use, its capacity may decrease, and the travellable distance may
gradually decrease. Furthermore, travellable distances may decrease depending on weather conditions, road conditions, bicycle condition,
or riding style.
