Before starting use

Precautions when riding the electric bicycle

● The electric bicycle have to be used under each country's law.
● The assist function works only by turning the pedals.
● Motor unit output varies according to the pedalling force.
● Changing the pedalling force also changes the strength (weakness) of the assist function. The strength (weakness) of the
assist function changes according to the assist mode.
● The motor unit stops automatically when the speed of the electric bicycle exceeds 25 km/h*.
● The motor unit is automatically reactivated when the speed of the electric bicycle is less than 25 km/h*.
● The motor unit outputs for the duration that the bicycle mark button (Walk assistance) is pressed until the speed of the
electric bicycle reaches 5 km/h* (or 6 km/h*), even if the pedals are not turned. (This differs with the settings of each
company.)
● The electric bicycle can be ridden as a bicycle without an assist function in the following cases:
– When the electric bicycle system is turned off
– When the assist mode is set to [NO ASSIST]
– When there is no remaining battery power
● Use of the electric bicycle for competition is not allowed. If you ride the electric bicycle using an incorrect gear, overheating
may occur.
* For motor of Speed-pedelec
The motor unit stops automatically when the speed of the vehicle exceeds 45 km/h.
The motor unit is automatically reactivated when the speed of the vehicle is less than 45 km/h.
The motor unit outputs for the duration that the bicycle mark button (Walk assistance) is pressed until the speed of the
vehicle reaches 18km/h, even if the pedals are not turned.
Mutual effect of bicycle gears and electric bicycle system
● Use gear shifting in the same way as you would on a regular bicycle.
● By selecting the appropriate gear, speed and distance can be increased by the same pedalling force.
