• If multiple Unity 2 Control Units or Docking Stations are in house, care must be taken not to mix
them. A particular Control Unit may only be used with the Docking Station it has been calibrated
with. If the Control Units and/or the Docking Stations are mixed up, the resulting system will be out
of calibration.
• Annual calibration of all transducers, reference microphones together with the Control Unit is re-
comended to maintain the performance of the system. Follow the guidelines of the local authorities
for proper calibration and servicing of audiological medical equipment.
• The transducers (headphones, bone conductor, measuring microphones etc.) supplied with the
instrument are calibrated to this instrument – exchange of transducers or the Control Unit requires
a new calibration.
• After calibration turn the Control Unit off and on again to activate the new calibration settings.
• An annual safety check must be carried out by qualified personnel authorised by Siemens.
• For a description of the main program functions refer to the Software Short Guide. A more detailed
description of the functionality is available in the Software Reference Manual. Both are available as a
PDF copy from the Unity Installation CD.
