Insert the safety guard (15) onto the motor housing
(13) and secure it underneath with the four screws
supplied.
Carefully peel off the tape over the cut-off blade.

safety and for the good working order of the
trimmer. The failure to observe these regulations
could cause dangerous personal harm.

Push forward the handle lock (7) and rotate the main
handle to the most suitable position. There are five
different positions (Fig.5).
Secure the power cord using the cord retainer.
Loop the cord through the cord retainer slot then
around the tongue. The cord retainer helps prevent
accidental unplugging of the cord (Fig. 6).
Connect the plug of the line trimmer to the electric
supply. The live power indicator (6) will show a blue light
once the unit is connected to electric power (Fig. 7).
Before doing any grass cutting, prepare the
cutting line.
Hold the line trimmer securely a short distance above
ground and turn the line trimmer on by pressing in the
lock-off button (2) then squeezing the trigger (3).
Tap the bump knob (17) on the ground to release
nylon line (18) to its working length. Let the line
trimmer run idly for a few seconds then proceed.
WARNING
These steps should be repeated every time
before starting work to make sure that everything
is functioning properly and to familiarise yourself
with the line trimmer.

OPERATING THE TRIMMER

Do not start the trimmer when it is upside down or
when not in working position.
Switch the trimmer on before the line makes contact
with the grass and ensure the line is not touching
stones or debris.
Turn the line trimmer on by pressing in the lock-off
button (2) then squeezing the trigger (3). Once the
trimmer is running, there is no need to keep the
lock-off button compressed.
Start off slowly, when you have gained experience,
you will be able to use the line trimmer to its full
potential.
WARNING
Keep a firm grip with both hands during
operation.
Cut the grass by moving the line trimmer from right to
left, left to right with the line parallel to the ground and
proceeding forward slowly. Keep the trimmer inclined
by about 30°.
High grass should be cut in layers, always begin from
the top. The cuts should be short.
Do not cut damp or wet grass. Dry grass will give
excellent results.
