► Store the battery in accordance with the fol‐
lowing conditions:
– The battery is out of reach of children.
– The battery is clean and dry.
– The battery is in an enclosed space.
– The battery is separate from the lawn
mower.
– If the battery is stored in the charger: dis‐
connect the mains plug and store the bat‐
tery at a charge state between 40% and
60% (2 LEDs illuminated green).
– The battery is not stored outside the speci‐
fied temperature limits,
NOTICE
■ If the battery is not stored as described in this
instruction manual, it may become deeply dis‐
charged and irreparably damaged.
► Charge a discharged battery before storing
it. STIHL recommends storing the battery at
a charge state between 40% and 60% (2
LEDs illuminated green).
► Store the battery separately from the lawn
mower.

16 Cleaning

16.1 Standing the lawn mower
upright
(Service position)
► Switch off the lawn mower and remove the
batteries.
► Place the lawn mower on a level surface.
► Remove the grass catcher box,
► Move the cutting height to position 4.
► Fold down the handlebar,
► Carry the lawn mower by the carrying han‐
dle (1) with one hand and a bracket (2) with
the other hand.
► Tilt the lawn mower to the rear and set it up so
that the brackets (2) are touching the ground.
The lawn mower is in service position.

Cleaning the Lawn Mower

► Switch off the lawnmower and remove the bat‐
teries.
► Clean the lawn mower with a damp cloth.
► Clean the discharge chute with a soft brush or
a damp cloth.
► Remove any foreign bodies from the battery
compartment and clean the battery compart‐
ment with a damp cloth.
► Clean the electrical contacts in the battery
compartment with a paintbrush or a soft brush.
► Clean the ventilation slots with a paintbrush.
► Upend the lawn mower.
► Clean the area around the blade and the blade
with a stick, a soft brush or a damp cloth.
NOTICE
■ Using a high-pressure cleaner or a water jet
for cleaning can damage the machine.
► Do not clean the machine with a high-pres‐
sure cleaner or a water jet.

Cleaning the Battery

► Clean the battery with a damp cloth.

17 Maintenance

17.1 Removing and Attaching the
Blade
17.1.1 Removing the blades
► Switch off the lawn mower and remove the
batteries.
► Stand the lawn mower upright,
► Block the blade (1) with a piece of wood (2).
► Unscrew the screw (3) and remove it together
with the washer (4).
► Remove the blade (1).
► Dispose of the screw (3) and washer (4).
Use a new screw and washer for reinstalling
the blade.
17.1.2 Installing the blades
► Switch off the lawn mower and remove the
batteries.
► Stand the lawn mower upright,
