Configuring the Load Settings
Press Load Settings to access the available configuration for the EL30000 Series.
Operating modes
Press Mode to select one of the four operating modes (CC, CV, CR and CP). The parameters in Load Settings page
will change accordingly to the selected operating mode.
When switching between operating modes, the load input is turned off and the Load Settings revert to their
Power-on or RST values.
Constant current mode
In this mode, the load will sink a current in accordance with the programmed value regardless of the input voltage.
Note that a programmable voltage limit is not available. If the DUT imposes a voltage above the voltage rating of the
load, the overvoltage protection will trip.
Current - Lets you enter a current value with the numeric keys. Press Enter to enter the value. You can use the knob
to adjust the value in this field.
Range - Lets you select from three current ranges using the Range softkey. The low range provides better
resolution at low current settings. Alternatively, you can use the knob or press Enter to toggle between the ranges
in this field. See Programming
Sense - The default sense setting is Local (2W), where the sense terminals are connected directly to the input
terminals. If you are using remote voltage sensing as explained under 4-Wire Sense, you must disconnect the sense
terminals from the input terminals. Toggling to 4W using the Sense softkey disconnects the sense terminals from
the input terminals. This lets you use remote voltage sensing. Alternatively, you can use the knob or press Enter to
toggle between the sense setting in this field.
Short - Lets you short the input terminals. This simulates a short circuit on the input of the load. It works in all
operating modes and temporarily overrides input and slew settings. Note that the input on/off and the input
protection functions take precedence over an input short. An input-short condition is annunciated by the SH status
bit. Press Enter to enable or disable short in this field.
