Safety, Installation and Operations Manual – Translation of original instructions
6. COMMISSIONING
6.1 General safety precautions
All operations must be carried out by skilled technical staff.
Before carrying out the following operations, make sure that the mixer and electrical panel are disconnected from the electrical
mains and cannot be accidentally powered up.
Before you start the mixer, the following requirements must be met:
• there is oil in the mechanical seals oil chamber;
• there is oil in the gearbox chamber (ZMR/ZMXR versions);
• the machine is fixed to the installation system;
• the monitoring equipment incorporated in the product is correctly connected;
• the propeller can turn freely;
Make sure that the atmosphere in the working area is not potentially explosive.

6.2 Rotation direction
caution
Before making the definitive electrical connection, a skilled technician must make
sure the propeller rotation direction is correct.
Start the mixerr briefly to check the direction of rotation.
The correct direction of propeller rotation is counterclockwise when you look at the mixer from the
propeller side.
The liquid must be pushed towards the front of the unit.
The illustration shows the correct direction of rotation.
If the propeller is rotating in the wrong direction, interchange two phases of the mains supply (L1, L2,
L3) and try again, repeating the procedure described.
Once the connection which provides the correct rotation direction has been obtained proceed with
definitive installation.
caution
If more than one mixer is connected to a single electrical panel, the rotation direction must be checked individually for each
unit installed.
6.3 Starting the unit
Once installation is complete, the system should be tested to ensure that it is fully operational.
The mixer must not be started if the atmosphere in the working area is potentially explosive.
Switch on the power supply and let the mixer run briefly and:
• check that the input current is within the limit stated on the dataplate.
• check whether the monitoring units are operating satisfactorily (no alarms or warnings);
The liquid must flow silently. The mixer must not vibrate excessively. Mixers are unable to operate unless they are completely submerged.
Insufficient immersion may trigger air turbulence, leading to harmful vibrations.
The mixer must not run dry. Check that the liquid level is above the mixer. Check the setting of the level control system.
caution
The maximum permitted number of starts per hour must be complied with to prevent damage to the motor.
In case of abnormal noise or vibration, alarms or warnings, stop the mixer immediately and do not restart it until the cause of
the anomaly has been is identified and fixed.
6.4 Acoustic pressure level
The mixer's acoustic pressure level when in operation is below 70 dB. However, in some systems and in some working conditions, this threshold
may be exceeded.
Use hearing protection when working nearby an installation in operation with a sound pressure level above 70 dB(A).
