Any intervention which modifies the mixer components can create a DANGER of EXPLOSION.
The mixers MUST be used ONLY in areas compatible with the characteristics recorded on the plate.
Flameproof joints cannot be repaired. Do not open in presence of Explosive Atmospheres.
During handling, installation or disinstallation operations the mixer must be disconnected from the electrical panel.
2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
2.1 Product description - Intended use
These products are intended for use in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, industrial processes, livestock, and agriculture water
treatment plants.
They are able to mix, homogenise and suspend liquids with medium to low viscosity (< 500 mPas), maximum density 1100 kg/m3.
They may not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres (except for models with explosion-proof certification).
Explosion proof models, identifiable by the -Ex acronym, are certified according to the explosion protection classification recor-
ded on the label.
Mixers must under no circumstances be used to mix explosive, flammabile or comustible liquids
In sludge tanks where the depth of the contents varies, the sludge may deposit on the mast, preventing correct dismantling of the mixer.
It is therefore important to check, with the tank totally or partially empty, for deposits on the mast and motor bracket.
The enclosures of the motors are made from cast iron for "ZM" models (Enclosure type ZM) and from stainless steel for "ZMX" models (Enclosure
type ZMX). "ZM" models are available in -Ex version (for -Ex approval see point 2.5.1).
The Mixer is always provided by ZENIT with a proper flexible cord for power supply, control and monitor circuits.
Water resistant cable entry provides sealing function and ensure a safe installation.
Main and electrical panels are on customer care and shall be in conformance with the equipment data.
The mixer is a fixed appliance intended to be used while fastened to a support or while secured in a specific location.
This appliance is not intended to be held in the hand during normal use.
2.2 Warranty coverage
Zenit undertakes to repair or replace the product if failures are due to design, manufacturing and assembly defects and are reported to Zenit during
the warranty period.
The warranty does not cover failures due to:
• normal wear and tear;
• improper handling, installation and use;
• use with incorrectly connected control systems;
• work done by unskilled staff;
• use of non-genuine spare parts.
caution
Any modifications made to the product without the manufacturer's authorisation may cause hazards and lead to a deterio-
ration in performance and loss of warranty cover.
caution
Running the mixer with the thermal and/or leakage detector disconnected will invalidate related warranty claims.
2.3 Technical data
The product's technical data and characteristics are provided in the technical informations.
2.4 Operating limits
For correct use, comply with the following operating limits:
pH value: 6 ÷ 14
Frequency converter operation (see point 5.3)
Thermal protection (see point 5.5)
Leakage detector (see point 5.6)
Liquid/Ambient temperature: 0 ÷ 40°C.
Duty service: S1 continuous (mixer completely submerged). Dry running is not allowed.
Immersion depth: maximum 20m.
Starts per hour (equally distributed): maximum 20 for motor with rated power P2 up to 10 kW, 15 for P2 over 10 kW
Mixer with reduction gearbox (ZMR models) in -Ex version must always operate in horizontal position.
The user must ensure that the mixer in -EX version operates always submerged to ensure that it is cooled effectively.
The minimum liquid level must be controlled by two float switch (in redundancy) to shut down the power supply when the mixed
liquid is below the minimum level (fully submerged mixer).
Only use float switch sensor according to the classification of the installation site.
The connection to the electric electrical panel must be carried out using an Intrinsic Safe Circuit such as a Zener safety barrier
or a galvanic isolation barrier.
