INTRODUCTION

The Kura hometrainer is designed to deliver the
smoothest pedalling possible, the widest range
of resistance and accurate power measurement
for entire training sessions.
All cyclists, amateur and pro alike, can improve
their athletic performance by efficient and
effective training with this hometrainer.
Kura also features a patented double transmission
belt system that measures power values, a
revolutionary concept in indoor training.
This hometrainer is an ergometer that directly and
accurately measures power output.
Resistance is generated by an extremely quiet
fluid technology braking system.
The hometrainer resistance increases with speed;
use higher gearing to work on power or lower
gearing to work on agility and pedal cadence.
There is a wide range of available resistance
levels, perfect for beginners, more experienced
cyclists and seasoned pros.
Kura is the complete training tool, both for
simulating outdoor training sessions and for
generating very accurate speed, cadence and
power data.
Additionally, power, cadence and speed data
can be transmitted by both the ANT™+ and the
Blueooth Smart protocols.
Having these 2 options lets you display your
data on several different kinds of devices, such
as smartphones, tablets, computers, cycle
computers and GPS devices.

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS

Before using your trainer, carefully read the
warnings listed below for your health and safety.
1. Before beginning a training programme,
undergo a physical examination certifying good
health.
2. Choose a training level compatible with your
physical endurance and the status of your health.
3. When using the trainer, select a training
program and adjust it so that it is compatible with
your fitness level and health.
4. If you feel particularly fatigued or sore while
exercising, stop using the trainer immediately and
consult your doctor.

Thank you for purchasing Kura.
The above warnings are general and not
exhaustive of all the precautions that should be
taken for the proper and safe use of the trainer;
which is solely the responsibility of the user.
Elite S.r.l. is not liable for any temporary or
permanent damage to the physical integrity of the
user, whether direct or indirect, resulting from the
use of the trainer.
Pedalling resistance is generated by a fluid
technology braking system for extremely quiet
training sessions. Fluid resistance increases
automatically with speed, similar to (but more
focused than) the air resistance experienced on
the road.
The Kura resistance curve as a function of speed
is parabolic and this is the reason for the wide
range of available resistance.
To get the most from this range, the training focus
should be more on pedalling cadence rather than
speed. Concentrate on agility, using a higher
cadence at a low power output, by using lower
gears. It is also possible to focus on power by
using a lower cadence level with higher gears,
or choose intermediate gearing for a balance
between agility and power.
You can of course adjust to obtain the
combination you desire.
Both amateurs and pros alike can benefit from
the wide range of resistance available with the
Kura.
Kura does not use a sensor to pick up cadence,
but uses an algorithm based on torque.
Since measurement is not direct but by
calculation, there are a few cases where the
cadence value might be inaccurate.
A wired cadence sensor can be connected to the
hometrainer to obtain a more precise cadence
measurement. A dedicated connector can be
found on the resistance unit for this purpose.
