appropriate 3M™ Filter Leaflet or 3M™ Air Supply Unit
User Instructions and with the 3M™ Face Piece
Reference Leaflet where you will find information on:

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
These products meet the requirements of EN 140:1998
re-usable half masks and AS/NZS 1716:2012 and should
be used in combination with a pair of approved 3M filters
(see Reference Leaflet) to form a filtering apparatus for
respiratory protection. Such apparatus is designed to
remove potentially harmful particulates from the
surrounding atmosphere. This apparatus may also be
used as a system with the 3M Air Supply Units (see
Reference Leaflet).

statements where indicated.

WARNINGS AND LIMITATIONS
Always be sure that the complete product is:
- Suitable for the application;
- Fitted correctly;
- Worn during all periods of exposure;
- Replaced when necessary.
Proper selection, training, use and appropriate
maintenance are essential in order for the
product to help protect the wearer from certain
airborne contaminants. Failure to follow all
instructions on the use of these respiratory
protection products and/or failure to properly
wear the complete product during all periods of
exposure may adversely affect the wearer's
health, lead to severe or life threatening illness
or permanent disability.
For suitability and proper use follow local
regulations, refer to all information supplied or
contact an occupational hygienist, safety
professional or 3M representative on the Tech Assist
Helpline 3M Australia 1800 024 464, 3M New
Zealand 0800 364 357.
Before use, the wearer must be trained in use of the
complete product in accordance with applicable
Health and Safety standards/guidance.
Only use with the Filters/Air Supply Units and
Spares/Accessories listed in the Reference Leaflet
and within the usage conditions given in the
Technical Specification.
Do not use in atmospheres containing less than
19.5% oxygen. (3M definition. Individual countries
may apply their own limits on oxygen deficiency.
Seek advice if in doubt).
Do not use for respiratory protection against
atmospheric contaminants/concentrations which
have poor warning properties or are unknown or
immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH) or
against contaminants/concentrations which generate
high heats of reaction with chemical filters.
^ Do not use in flammable atmospheres.
Select and wear appropriate protection when
exposed to sparks and/or flames.
In case of intended use in explosive atmospheres,
contact 3M Technical Service.
Do not use for escape purposes.
^ Do not use with beards or other facial hair that
may inhibit contact between the face and the
product thus preventing a good seal.
Leave the contaminated area immediately if:
a) Breathing becomes difficult or increased breathing
resistance occurs.
b) Dizziness or other distress occurs.
c) You smell or taste contaminants or irritation
occurs.
d) Airflow to the face piece decreases or stops.
e) Any part of the system becomes damaged.
Never modify or alter this product. Replace parts
only with original 3M spare parts.
National regulations may impose specific limitations
on the use of filters depending on the filter class and
the facepiece used. Use of any 3M™ Face piece /
Filter combination should be in accordance with
applicable Health and Safety standards, AS/NZS
1715, Respiratory Selection Tables or in accordance
with the recommendations of an Occupational
Hygienist.
